Gotta Blast

IMAGE.JPG

We would like to complete this blog series and trip with a short testimony from each of our team members! Many of us were extremely timid and hesitant to sign up for this trip, but all very thankful that we were obedient! All of our expectations were surpassed! We thought you’d hear everyone’s perspective best from each person so here ya go!

“You miss 100% of the shots you do not take.” —Wayne Gretzky, Michael Scott, Baja Blast

Jacques Lee-

God revealed to me some unforgiveness that I had to let go of in order to receive his blessings. I was constantly reminded of Christ continuing the work he promised to do in me. I won’t try and rush perfection in my life, but I will wait for the Holy Spirit to guide me in God’s timing.

Evan Smith-

The Lord is so so faithful. I didn’t know what to expect from this trip, but I believed God was going to do a mighty work through our team and that’s exactly what he did. We saw lives changed, families healed, and most importantly souls won for the Kingdom of God. My heart has been given a new “beat” for the lover of my soul and I am ready to be his hands and feet back in my community and on my campus.

Morgan Hunter-

This week has been nothing short of life changing. I still cannot explain the experience in words. I know that God is great and God exceeded every expectation I had. I’m so honored to have been on this trip with such amazing followers of Christ and could not be more thankful.

Kēvin Carlie-

God has surpassed my expectations. I desired to see Him bring souls to Himself, but I witnessed this by the dozens. I desired to be drawn nearer to Him, but I felt close enough to hug Him. I desired to grow in boldness, and I feel like a completely new man with the strength of a lion. There is no one like our God.

Marc Maldonado-

God has broken chains and has delivered me from heart ache in my life. Pain I never realized was there now gone. God imparted spiritual gifts in my life as well. I was able to bare witness to this during prayer. I have grown spiritually and relationally.

Lauren Carlie-

This trip was amazing. I keep trying to put it in words, but none can paint the full picture of what God has done here. I am not going back the same. People aren’t staying the same. God’s kingdom is flourishing into a beautiful garden full of different faces and cultures. The intimacy with the Lord was worth everything put into this trip.

Kendyl Connor -

Coming into this week I had no clue what to expect, but I knew that I was to come expectant that miracles would happen through our obedience to go to the nations. The Holy Spirit was so present all week in the men, women, and children in Mexico, and the salvations that were received were nothing short of a miracle. God allowed me to receive the Holy Spirit this week into the deepest fibers of my being, and my life is forever changed because of that experience and coming to Baja. Gloria a Dios.

Madison Bailey-

I was expecting something amazing from this week, and I am in awe of just how powerful it was. God moved so hard and broke down things in my life that i didn’t even realize were there. He is faithful and so Holy.

Melissa Brocato-

I’m still processing through this week, but I am so very thankful that I finally got to experience Baja and a Ten Days trip. Coming into the week I was praying for a renewed passion for many things in my life, and God has started that process in my heart. I know He will be faithful to finish that good work. He is a good Father, and I have been blessed by his people and His Spirit this week.

Kelsea Hunter-

God is GREAT! He showed me what I have been lacking in my faith. He showed me all of the baggage I have been carrying, and He set me free. I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt so free spiritually and emotionally. Also to see the people of Baja in such good spirits has put me in a whole new perspective on life. My life has changed forever and I’m so happy I got to experience this with all of you! ❤️❤️

Jacob Adams-

This trip has been life changing, and I have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill Gods will for my life. I am so very thankful and blessed for the Augusta group for adopting me this weekend, you guys are truly amazing! I have never experienced such an overwhelming amount of God’s love until I went on this trip. Words can’t describe how incredible it has been. I have seen lives changed, hearts changed, and have witnessed the many miracles of God. Even though I left Baja, my heart will never leave.

Alli Townsend-

This trip was the fulfillment of many prayers and dreams for ENC Augusta. God encouraged me personally in unique ways and gave me a greater understanding of His love. It brought me much joy to watch God work in and through our team!

Jacqueline Bailey-

This week was such a beautiful portrayal of the kingdom of God for me. It challenged me to go further, to be more uncomfortable in my faith and to love in greater ways. This week was was affirming and encouraging for me in every way. I am so grateful to have been with my every nation and church family this week in ministry in Baja.

Aaron Byrd-

This trip affirmed that God is everywhere seeking out people to follow him . Not based on their credibility but because he thinks they can be like Him. I believe that now as well !

Blame it on Jesus #blessed

IMAGE.JPG

Good morning everyone! For our last day in Baja we did what we would do on any Sunday- go to church! Except in Mexico. So even better than a normal Sunday. Today we went into an Every Nation Church that was built a few years back. Lauren, Jacqueline, and Jacob sang on stage proclaiming the good news! When students were called to share testimonies, Morgan went forward and spoke to the whole church about her experience and growth throughout the week.

After church, we had some time to roam around Baja and see how beautiful the city really is! We went through the market, ate at a local restaurant, and took lots of pictures!

We gathered back at the hotel for worship tonight which was extremely powerful and emotional. God spoke love, compassion, and power to each of us. Aaron spoke bravely about his experiences this week and what God has shown him through the people of Baja.

IMG_2813.JPG

After our final meeting, we gathered and watched the sunset together, marveling at God’s creation.

IMAGE.JPG
Turns out it’s really hard to get a nice picture of the sunset and get people to show up. But we tried our best.

Though we didn’t attend the service at the church we built, this picture was sent to us! Many people were baptized in this building this morning. PRAISE GOD!

Just a little shoutout to our girl, Lauren, for being awesome, creative, and beautiful.

Also, last but not least. Enjoy this picture of Evan because he was somehow left out in the last post. (I’m still sorry @evan!!)

Games & Gospel

IMAGE.JPG

Today, we began the day by putting the finishing touches on the church and setting up for our FIESTA!!

There was a huge turnout of people at our fiesta! Thank God for bringing each of them out! We’ve been inviting people for the last two days to come to this fiesta and many of them showed up for some games and gospel! Here are some pictures from the fiesta!

On a much more important note, we gave out purple books and Bibles to people who haven’t yet received them this week! The purple book is an awesome discipleship book that helps believers to strengthen their faith and knowledge. As you can see, we had a great time today. The fiesta was so much fun for us and for the village people, and we shared the gospel with so many new people! Thank you again everyone for the comments and support! We love and miss you guys!

Dabbing in Mexico

Today, we went back into the city to finish the church and house we started yesterday, and to continue evangelizing and spreading the gospel!

IMG_2708.JPG
IMAGE.JPG

To start our day, we walked around the town evangelizing and sharing our testimonies with the people. While walking around going door to door, Aaron (who hasn’t taken a Spanish class since high school and definitely is not fluent) saw a man walking down the street and stopped him. He had a whole conversation with this man in SPANISH and invited him to the meeting!! Lauren and Jacqueline spoke some encouragement and shared their testimonies, speaking truth and love to the people!

IMG_2709.JPG
IMAGE.JPG

Afterwards, many people accepted Christ into their hearts and we walked around praying over these people. Morgan approached one man who seemed to be worried and prayed over him. He wanted his problems kept private, but as Morgan prayed the Spirit spoke through her straight into his heart. He burst into tears as she prayed and hugged her after! We’re not sure why he wanted prayer, but we are positive that in that moment he felt the power and love of God!! Morgan said, “this is honestly the first time I’ve felt God talk to me like this. It was as if I wasn’t the one talking. He knew what he wanted me to say, and it was a surreal feeling.”

IMG_2722.JPG

After evangelism, we made our way back to the build site for some delicious lunch. The line was long, but definitely worth it.

IMG_2717.JPG

We had some free time between lunch and building so some of the team members played with the kids living in the village. We played futbol (soccer, of course!), threw paper airplanes, found out kids in Mexico dab just as often and kids in America, and played American football. We had a blast playing and loving on these kids!

IMG_2712.JPG

IMG_2720.JPG

After lunch, we finished painting the house and the church and still cannot believe how far it has come!! In only two days, the buildings are almost complete.

IMG_2707.JPG

Thank you all for your love and support, God really is moving here! We love reading your comments and encouragement so keep it coming!

“Amigo, nail at the top!”

Today, Baja Blast made our way into the city Tijuana to build a church and a home for the community!

Almost finished!!! Started with a concrete slab and some stacks of wood.

After nailing, lifting boards, and painting walls for a few hours, we walked the streets going door to door evangelizing and inviting the people to come listen to the gospel.

IMAGE.JPG

Many of these people have never heard the word before and were so ready to hear it! Kendyl and Aaron both bravely shared their testimonies with the people.

IMG_2689.JPG
IMAGE.JPG

There were around 250 people who showed up, and after hearing the testimonies and having the word preached to them, over half of them accepted Christ into their hearts TODAY!! God is truly working through each of us in Mexico.

IMAGE.JPG

We asked a few of our members what the most powerful thing they saw God do today and this is what we got-

“I think the most powerful thing I’ve seen God do today was His healing. First and foremost he healed a guy who fell off the roof of the house we were building. Secondly I saw Him heal a woman who I prayed for who had just recently been in a car accident and had been suffering from severe back and neck pains from the incident!” -Jacob (our adopted team member)

A man on our team literally fell off the roof while building and hit his head and tailbone and passed out. Immediately, the medical professionals went to him and everyone else stopped what they were doing to pray. There was no question that God was with us in that moment because he stood and walked and was healed! There’s no way he should’ve been able to walk right after that. -Lauren

Safely to Mexico

We made it safely to Mexico last night, met new friends over dinner and then crashed from the long day of travel. We are up early and ready for a full day of building and sharing about Jesus. Pray for safety for our team and for many to respond to the gospel today.

Day 1- Charlotte -> San Diego

Airport necessities- Chick Fil A, Starbucks, and matching t-shirts! ❤️  Already so many people have lifted our spirits by asking where we’re going and what we’re doing. Many people we’ve met in the airport have sent their prayers our way and wished us the best! Thank God for kind strangers who make waking up at 4 A.M. so much better.

Sunday...last day!

IMG_9572.JPG

Today started with a delicious breakfast and a long, VERY long, bus ride to church. (We were all saying how thankful we were that we didn’t have a two hour trip to church each time we go.) We have had LEGENDARY bus drivers this week as they’ve navigated crazy terrain, busy traffic and crowded streets. Today was no different.

It is always an amazing experience to worship with people in other nations. Different culture, different language, same God, same family! I absolutely love singing a song in English while the song is being lead in Spanish...it was like heaven. From the building, singing, praying, hearing the message, ministry, fellowship...this morning was an amazing time with spiritual family. (We also were asked to pray for a group of children in the church who had great need. This little boy needs new glasses! Please pray with us!)

We spent a lot of time resting and hanging out this afternoon. A few of us also went to an afternoon service to help minister. This is the church that Pastor Ramon (gentlemen that works for BCM and leads the street evangelism efforts) pastors and leads. The students experienced God in a powerful way...and also said it was more hot than it had been all week! 😳

We ended today with a POWERFUL worship service where Hunter brought a passionate, strong message on Jesus > death! Man oh man, we are blessed with a wonderful youth pastor! We were all so proud that he was ours!

We are going to end this blog with quotes from our leaders. What a fabulous group of leaders that I’ve had the privilege to be a part of...your students are in safe hands. I’ve watched them lead selflessly as they slept less, ate last, stepped up, humbled themselves, and LOVED these students. The students have had shoulders to stand on which is why they’ve flourished into powerful ministers of the gospel! So get ready, they’re coming home to you changed! Make room for their big faith!

So, that’s my “quote”! The others are below! It’s been an honor to serve you by writing this blog. May all of our lives be a letter penned for Jesus to live loud through us. Much love,

Karla G 💚

Brent: The power of stepping out in faith to do the simple things the gospel has called us to do is always met by God’s abundant grace. I saw that power over and over again through our students and leaders and it was amazing! If we will trust and obey God will always meet us in that moment and use us to glorify His name.

Courtney: God has shown me His deep love for His people this week. His love breaks through every boundary. It’s amazed me to be able to communicate with the Mexican people, even with a language barrier. I’m thankful God used me, a broken vessel, to minister to the people of Baja. My life is forever altered, and I’ve fallen in love with these people. I’m grateful. Thanks be to God for His work this week.

Emerson: The Lord has shown me how His kingdom comes and breaks through us, ordinary, sinful people who have been revolutionized by His grace. It comes through a smile, playing futbol, face painting, nerf gun fights, compassion for the fatherless, rich and poor, praying, healing, the declaration of the Gospel and so much more.

It’s amazing how God has used those who are unencumbered by what school, society, social media and sin say about them. Many are now walking in freedom through the Holy Spirit! We have truly seen Jesus this week!

Hunter: I loved seeing God operate in students and the Holy Spirit manifest His presence among our people to minister to the people of Baja. I loved students seeing the Bible lived right in front of them. They read the scripture and they see it happen later that day! Students have witnessed the power of God in ways they can’t deny. My hope and prayer is that students will allow this experience to shape and mold the context of the lives they’re walking back into. May they be as willing to pray with the same boldness in Evans that they did in Baja. May they share the gospel and their testimony with the same  power that they did in Baja. I’m grateful to have led this team, it’s been an honor to witness God move in our midst.

Kate: God has been showing me how to operate more in the Holy Spirit. We have laid hands on, prayed, had visions and engrained the faces of the many people we ministered to in our minds. Most of all, I've seen the power of the Holy Spirit moving in our faith to complete these good works and these people have become our family. They live their lives with open hearts/hands and we have much to learn from them. They are in my heart forever. Also, I'm SO PROUD of the youth and everything they have done and had faith for this week. Jesus was with them and it showed.

Kimberly: This week we heard the quote “as you go you grow”. As someone who was so fearful to go, I’m so glad I did. I’m grateful God lovingly nudged me to step forward in obedience. I have seen the people of Baja through the eyes of God. I have compassion for them. I have fallen in love with them. I’ve also fallen more in love with God. I’m coming home hungry for more and excited to continue being a vessel for the Lord to use and work through. Glory to God for what He has done this week!

Mexico moments...

Today. What can be said? How is it even possible to put in to words all that God has done?

Today started the same as every other day...but from 10am on it was quite different! We left our accommodation to head to the house build sites. We were scheduled to do the dedication of the homes. What does that mean? I’ll tell you! The Ten Days crew gathers together around the house recipient to pray for them, encourage them and turn over the keys to them.  It’s like a big WELCOME HOME party ☺️ A beautiful young lady named Anna was the recipient of the home we worked on this week. She and her three beautiful kids have a new home as of today!

After we dedicated their homes, we walked up a giant, GIANT, hill to the site where we were hosting a Fiesta for the community where we have been ministering all week long. Clown ministry, game/craft stations, soccer, baseketball, 2 minute miracles, a gospel presentation and FOOD await these precious people. Our very own Kate Maynard was in charge of organizing all the game and craft stations. She did an amazing job in the “organized chaos” event. 600 people attended today and it was glorious! The caterer was prepared for only 400 but GOD MULTIPLIED THE FOOD! We had more than enough to feed all of the guests and the team. It was amazing!

One last thing for the day...I wish you could hear your students sharing what God is speaking to them. They are wise beyond their years. We are challenging them to take this truth back home...to live loudly for Jesus back home...because of its just for the mission trip, then they’ve only had an experience and not true life change. Will you believe with all 29 of us that came to Baja from IFC for this time to be a true altar in our lives? That God would be glorified in us tomorrow on our last day here...and when we return home to the place God has called us to for such a time as this.

We will miss being at IFC tomorrow. There’s no place like home.

We love you.

PS. Tomorrow you will hear from the leaders and what God has shown them this week. 💚

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday!!! Because it is a day the Lord has made! What a glorious day it has been! God has done miracles today! Healing, deliverance and salvation have been in our midst!

We started our day studying Mark 7 and 8 together...and the coolest thing is that we are seeing the same miracles happen in our midst that we see in the scripture!

After bible study, we bused to the project site and went on to do street evangelism from there. Our entire group hit the street shouting “Buenes dias” to every dwelling we came to and inviting them to a meeting for good news and a free gift! Josiah and Mikaela are our amazing Spanish speakers! Wow! And all the students had a chance to invite folks with the help of a translator. We are so proud of one another.

The openness of the Mexican people warms our heart.  It’s been amazing to see God move in this land...the pictures below will tell our story today. Man, it’s been glorious!

We ended our evening with worship and teaching. Caleb, Josiah and Bethany lead us tonight. As we sang “JESUS! JESUS! You make the darkness tremble...” you could sense the Spirit tangibly. We just sang it over and over and over...we sang loud and soft, with power and reverence - it was absolutely electric to sing those words in the open air over this nation. We believe what we are singing! Do you?!

We are so shocked at how quickly the work week has gone. Tomorrow we will dedicate the homes and turn the keys over to their owners! We will also host a Fiesta for the people in the community. We can’t wait to share with you what God does through this outreach. Please be praying for the people of Baja.

We love you! Thanks for commenting on the blog...your words bring joy to our souls.

As always, before you browse the photos, read what God did in some of our students today (direct quotes ☺️):

Avery- Jesus has shown me that if I become the big faith friend then I can influence a church and then the whole Baja community. #immediately #godawgs

Jacob- God has showed me the power of prayer and the laying on of hands. As we prayed for a lady who was hard of hearing Ignacio had his hand on top of mine and as we prayed I could feel his emotions and when he started crying I also started to cry as well. I almost felt like I could understand what he was saying even though he was speaking in Spanish.

Bryce- Jesus has shown me many things on this trip. Today he showed me how powerful prayer is and how amazing it is. The entire time I could feel the Holy Spirit flowing through me, speaking through me and going out of me. I normally don’t pray out loud or in a big group but I wanted to be the first one to pray for healing because I felt the Holy Spirit’s presence growing and manifesting all round us it was so strong and I could feel him telling me. You are going to be the main person praying for people on this day. I did what I was called to do and I am proud to be doing God’s work.

Josiah- God showed me to have faith...Even in the smallest situations because He can perform miracles through people by His power. God also showed me to always love and be kind.

Caleb- The name of Jesus carries power into every situation. Where we see darkness, God shines a light. Where we see a mountain, God sees the other side. No matter what we’re up against or facing, when we call on, and declare the power of the name of Jesus, things change and miracles happen.

Finish what you start!

Hola!

Again, after a very early and delicious breakfast including the best cheese eggs ever, we met in groups to study Mark 5 & 6. It’s really special to dig in to the Word together and to hear students share their insight.  Find yourself studying the word with young people...you won’t regret it!

So, we boarded the buses to head to the project sites and fun ensued! The students are such hard workers!! (We hope they work as hard for you at home as they do here!! 🤣) We continued to build houses today and bake our skin the the Mexico sun! THIS IS THE LIFE! Serving others keeps your eyes off yourself and it looks like Jesus.

Karla and a group of girls had the opportunity to pray for a gentleman named Louise. He was sick with Parkinsons Disease. He was shaking from head to toe and desiring to be set free. We spent about an hour praying, singing and standing in faith for his healing. Louise is a believer in Jesus. His shaking subsided and rest came to his body. What an honor to be the hands and feet of Jesus today. We are believing for peace to come to Louise’s life and body. Would you believe with us?

Some of us also had the opportunity to do street evangelism! What does this look like? We go door to door to greet people, explain who we are and invite them to a meeting on a street corner to share our testimonies (2 minuet miracles!) and the gospel  We also give each family a bible and a Purple Book (discipleship workbook on essentials of the faith). John, Lena and Mikaela each boldly shared with the crowd how Jesus has changed their life! Emerson had the opportunity to share the gospel message as well. What a powerful time!

I have to say it again, you would be so proud of your sons and daughters. They are a unique group of young people and they stand out in a crowd! God has marked them for His purposes. Encourage this in them when they get home.

As we do each evening, we have a meal together and then worship God throughout song, testimony and teaching. Karla taught this evening! She unpacked the Mark 6 passage when Jesus walked on the water! Jesus > storms! Jesus is intentional, He sees us and He cares for us. He never leaves us! He’s our strength and hope. Jesus is with us in the midst of our storms. What an encouragement to know that Jesus is patient with us in good times and bad.

We love you all...deeply! You’re our favorites! And we miss you. Keep praying.  Tomorrow morning we evangelize door to door and then build in the afternoon! ☺️

P.S. Before you look at photos, read about how these girls saw God move today:

Rachel- While we where building and evangelizing, God showed me that He can use the least amount of experience and the smallest amount of faith to do great things.

Daniela- I believe God showed me today that His love and power can help overcome any fears that we might face when we are evangelizing or speaking to people that might have trouble understanding us.  Today, God worked through me and I was able to invite a family to the meeting even though it was hard for me to speak Spanish

Taran- In the past few days I felt that God had put on my heart the power of healing and that through him, anyone who believed could also hold that power. That was definitely proven today when a group of us praying over a women healed her through the amazing power of God.

Lena- Today I feel like I really lived out what Pastor Brent said last night. I was really scared to do my 2 minute miracle but I thought about how God can use anything that I have - no matter how small - for his glory, because anything we have to offer plus his power always equals more than enough.

Aliyah- “Compassion never gives up and compassion is a heart breaking with love for people” -Pastor Brent. Today God showed me my compassion for the Baja people and he revealed my potential in mission work.

Grayson- I prayed over a man today to be healed which is something I never have felt comfortable doing.  Got equipped me when I needed Him to and allowed me to step out of my comfort zone in faith, trust, hope, and confidence in his name.

Amelia-  Today God is showing me how to have compassion on others and show love to people I’ve never even talked to. God is so good!

It’s hammer time! Oh-oh!

Today has been a day for the books! This team of students and adults worked HARD to build a home for a family here in Baja.

But before I list the details of the day, let’s hear from the “IFC students of the day”! These guys were asked: What are you expecting God to do today? And they said...

John: to see God’s hand at work in our team and the people of Baja.

Kyle: I’m expecting God to use everyone to do their part in building this house and I hope the owner of the house feels blessed by our serving them.

Noah: I’m expecting God to show a miracle that will change peoples lives give us experiences that we’ll never forget.

I can say that these guys expectations were met and exceeded. We start these days EARLY with a 7am breakfast, an 8am team devotional (each room reads the word together and unpacks the scripture. So good. So rich. So worth it.), a 9am load time to head out to the work sites. The larger EN group is split into 3 projects: building homes, running a VBS and doing street evangelism. Every student will have he opportunity to do each project. But for today and tomorrow, we are building! (Don’t worry: we are drinking tons of water, every one is applying and reapplying sunscreen, all your students are giving their all, Hunter is leading strong, joy is abounding, laughter is occurring, friends are forming, and Jesus is REIGNING!) In fact, today we almost completed the entire home structure framing and roofing!!! In one day!! And a large portion of our group painted almost the entire house as well! Incredible. Pastor Brent said on the drive home, ”I’m not sure I’ve worked this hard physically in a very long time.” 🤣

Our day closed with worship and teaching. We are studying Mark 5, Jesus feeding the 5000, and it was unpacked by our very own Pastor Brent.

What we have + Jesus = ALWAYS more than enough!

Jesus is greater than lack! (Jesus > lack)

We are so grateful to be here. Thank you for partnering with us to reach this nation. As we cram in to a hotel room for our “end of the day team meeting”, we are in awe of what God is doing. Here are a few nuggets from some of the students:

Hannah: It’s amazing how much we came together and how fast we built the house. Looking around at the scenery while driving up it made me feel more compassion for the people. While building the house I got up on the roof which was scary but I had the courage and grace to do it which is exactly what we prayed for at the beginning of the day.

Sarah: I thought it was cool that even with language barriers we were able to show love to kids. We built them a house but were also able to show them love practically but spending time with them.

Haley: I love how we all came together as a team to build an entire home. We came together so quickly and worked together well. I also loved how we were able to communicate to the kids and play with them even with a language barrier.

Bethany: I loved Hector’s enthusiasm for Jesus and the way he spoke this morning. He kept saying “thank you Jesus”. He was my God siting for the day.

☺️ Enjoy the photos! Until tomorrow...

It’s Tuesday! Isn’t it?! :)

My goodness...yesterday was a LONG day of travel and most of us got confused which day it actually was. Ha! Today is a new day! Mercies are new as well...and we are dependent on that promise. Faithful God!

After a good nights sleep, a graciously prepared breakfast, and time with Jesus (we are reading through the gospel of Mark this week together! Morning devotions and nightly teachings are centered on this text. Join us!), we had a day of team building and fellowship to prepare us for the next days of hard physical labor building homes and precious moments of ministry evangelizing on the streets. Jesus, SHINE in and through us!

A birds eye view of the team starting the day with worship! They sounded like an angelic choir singing “Reckless Love”. Heavenly.

 It’s cold out here!! :)

It’s cold out here!! :)

Brent and Karla crossed back to the USA to retrieve the lost luggage! Getting through the border into the USA takes some time in this traffic!   After an afternoon of shopping in the market, we took time to walk around Rosarito and see the area first hand. What a great time, great exercise (we walked FOREVER!) and fellowship. It’s all so important as God builds unity in our midst.

We ended our day with worship and teaching. Caleb did a wonderful job leading and exhorting the students. And we were taught an amazing word on Mark 2 by Pastor David Hermes from our church in Sterling, VA.

And I just have to end on this — these students and leaders stand out. IFC is a special place that as a Christ Centered church produces really special people. We are blessed.

We love y’all!

PS. What does Wednesday hold? A full day of building! We are excited! And yes, we will be well hydrated and fully sunscreened! ☺️

***************************

We want you to hear from each of the students this week on the blog as God is giving them insight and wisdom beyond their years! Here is what Hannah G, Mikaela and Chloe have to say about their “God expectations” personally and for the team:

Hannah G: personally, God has started showing me His pursuit of people. I used to see God as distant and far off, but He’s been showing me how close and personal He is, especially to the ones He loves. I think He’s going to continue to teach and show me the lengths He will go to reach people. It’s amazing that He is using me to minister to these people.

As a team, He is going to minister to all of us how we are supposed to come together as a body. We are having to set aside personal thoughts and comforts about other people, and He is going to unite us and bring us close together for His purpose.

Mikaela: For me personally, He is working in me putting me out of my comfort zone. Last night, we were instructed to pray with someone we didn’t know. I didn’t want to at first, and it gave me anxiety. And then I thought “if I can’t talk to someone on this trip with me, how will I evangelize to people who are complete strangers from a different country, culture, and have a language barrier.” After we prayed, I realized it wasn’t that hard or that bad. I believe He is going to continue to push my boundaries and pull me out of my comfort zone so that I will have a great experience with the Mexican people.

As a team, I believe He is going to increase our fellowship with each other. As In Focus, as Ten Days team, and in our fellowship with God. What happens here will influence what we bring back to Evans, Ga and to the United States.

Chloe: for me personally, I’m praying for clarity through this trip. I find it hard to find moments to get alone with God with how busy life at home is. I’m praying by coming to Baja and by setting aside my personal agendas, that I can really hear from God.

As a team, We are a big team. And I’m praying that everyone will get to know each other better, and strong friendships will be formed that will last. And not only make lasting relationships within our church, but also relationships with those from other churches and with the people of Rosarito.

This is a great group! We already have been given such a wonderful compliment- it came from our flight attendant:

”Is this a school group?”

”No, we are a church group on a mission trip.”

”Ah! I wondered why everyone was so well behaved!” ☺️
